A city centre space for sharing, storing and circulating materials
Circular Arts Network is pleased to introduce the CAN Reuse Hub – a dedicated Glasgow city centre space for the exchange, collection and drop-off of materials for reuse.
The hub has been developed in direct response to our community. Artists, producers and organisations told us they wanted a central, accessible location to make material exchange easier and more visible. The Reuse Hub is our response to that need.
It supports the circulation of materials listed on canarts.org.uk, while providing a physical point of connection for Glasgow’s circular arts community.

The space is generously provided by Outer Spaces. Outer Spaces supports the creative and professional development of artists through studio and project spaces, awards, commissioning and partnerships.
The Reuse Hub is located within a functioning office and studio building with a staffed reception. If you are asked at reception where you are going, please state that you are visiting the CAN Reuse Hub – staff will be aware of the project and its location within the building.
Outer Spaces studios are self-managed environments. We ask all visitors to respect the shared nature of the space.
How the Hub Works
The Reuse Hub functions as a storage and collection point for materials listed on CAN.
If an item on the website is listed by CAN, it will be located at the Reuse Hub and available for collection during opening hours.
We maintain an active inventory of materials currently stored on site, all of which can be browsed and claimed via the CAN website.
You can also browse items at the hub and take them with you, as long as they are claimed via the site.
The aim is to make it easier to move materials between projects, organisations and timelines – reducing viable material waste at the end of production cycles.
Collecting Materials
- Browse available items at canarts.org.uk
- Claim or arrange collection through the website
- Collect during opening hours
Please ensure collection has been arranged before attending.
Dropping Off Materials
We welcome all usable materials suitable for creative reuse.
Before bringing items:
- Check size guidance
- Ensure they are in reusable condition
- Deliver during opening hours only
Size Guidance
The hub has limited storage capacity.
As a general guide, we cannot accept extra-large items. If an item is larger than a small sofa or difficult for two people to carry, please contact the team in advance to discuss suitability and delivery.
If you are unsure about size or volume, email hub@canarts.org.uk before transporting materials.
Building on Existing Circular Models
The CAN Reuse Hub builds on models already in practice across the UK. We have been inspired by the work of SAIL (Sustainable Arts in Leeds) through the CAN plug-in, and by Glasgow organisations such as Glasgow Tool Library and Glasgow Wood, who have demonstrated how shared infrastructure can strengthen local creative ecosystems.
